Wash apples in cool water. Twist and remove the stem. Peel the skin using a vegetable peeler or knife, if desired. Core the apple using an apple corer or by cutting the four sides from the apple core. Discard the core and slice the sides as desired.
To prevent oxidation or browning, toss the cut or sliced apples with apple juice (to maintain the apple flavor) or lemon juice.

Ingredients:
- 6 medium Braeburn apples, cored
- 1/4 cup orange marmalade
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground allspice
Directions:
- Heat the oven to 350°F.
- Place the apples in a shallow ungreased baking pan. Add a small amount of water to the base of the pan.
- In a small bowl, combine the marmalade and walnuts; mix well. Divide the marmalade mixture evenly among the apples, spooning in the center.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and allspice.
- Bake uncovered until the apples are tender, about 60-70 minutes.
